Morning Wrap up: Bullish stance for oilseeds

Palm oil, rapeoil and bean oil traded higher in Chinese markets today. Rape futures ended the day above the peak of the year on the Matif (Nov). Flat price in Argentina climbed yesterday – hit new highs (Dec). Today the news is new tariffs on China. Trudeau announced overnight: Starting today, there are 25% tariffs on Chinese-made steel and aluminum imports to Canada – Global News. Board crush in China improved yesterday. Chinese crushers were active yesterday afternoon (Brz time). Trades reported for Feb, April, May and June. Trades reported out of PNW and USG.  Questions are circulating about possible WO for Nov shipment out Rio Grande port – the lineup is growing and quality issues. Indonesia once again talked about the B40 commitment. Production in Indonesia is smaller and the domestic consumption is growing – production Jan-Jul dropped 2 million tons and domestic consumption grew 0.7 million tons - GAPKI. Good rains all over Brazil in the last 5 days, favoring almost all regions. The pattern shifts to less rain down the South, which is good, and more regular rains in the center-North. Soybean premiums got some support yesterday. Farmer selling in Brazil and Arg remains subdued, both corn and beans. Last week Brz sold 1.3 millions tons (55/45) of soybean and Argentina 0.85 million. Brz sold 1.2 million tons of corn and Arg 0.46 million. Cif Nola beans traded oct at +126x,+127x and +130x (+5). Cif corn also higher oct traded +95c (+2). Chinese crushers sold 322k tons of smeal today, 120k tons above yesterday and concentrated on distant delivery (75%). Basis of smeal for new crop is bit higher.
