Lack of rains in the last 10 days in parts of Paraná, MGDS and Paraguay. The difference this is year is temperature (close to normal). Models show good volumes of rain for all regions for the next 15 days. Soybean farmer selling in Brazil last week closed at only 500,000 tons (OC/NC-30/70), the smallest number this year. The flat price dropped by 5 BRL per sack in many regions. The overall profitability remains good and farmer selling remains below the average (26%, 2 ppts below LY and 8 ppts below the 7-year average). Sino booked a few more US cargoes last week. Estimates of 30-35 soybean cargoes traded this week CFR China – 15 from the US. Freights for nearby plunged, helping Brz (more cargoes reported for Dec). China still has to cover 5-6 Mi tons for Dec-Jan – others say it could be much smaller. Rumors Brz sold 01 corn cargo to China last week around $250 per ton CFR. The freight spread Dec-May Santos-N.China is -$6/t (last year it was +$4/t). The Arg+Brz+US smeal lineup continues to grow, adding pressure to the flat price – in October 6.3 million tons — all time high for a single month. Last year, export volumes reached 3.7 million tons for the same period. The EUDR remains in place - 15 new amendments were forwarded to Parliament, while one included a delay of two years instead of one. The EU parliament voted LW in favour of 8 of the remaining 9 amendments. The EU parliament still needs to discuss with the EU council and the responsible committee about the remaining amendments. The vote on the changed text is expected to take place on 25-28 Nov. It is getting dangerously close to the deadline of December 30th.
