SOYBEANS

Soybean premiums in Brazil continue their downward trend. August shipments fall 45 cents per bushel on weekly variation on the seller’s side and 65 cents on the buyer’s side. Today the soybean market was hot in Brazil, and soybean farmer selling exceeded 1 million tons. Trades are reported for July shipments at -110n/-115n/-120n. Trades are reported for March shipments at -55h.

The drought monitor, released today by the USDA and NOAA, indicated worsening U.S. soil conditions, with some locations in the Midwest already experiencing extreme drought conditions. Overall, the weather is getting worse in several grain producing regions. In Australia the weather is hot and dry. India has cut their refined oil import tariff, suggesting that it is already worried about the low monsoons. Temperatures in China are increasing rapidly. There are already talks of energy consumption reduction programs. September soybean shipments closed the day up 58 cents per bushel on the CBOT.
